Intel completes the installation of the Aurora supercomputer, which will become the world's first supercomputer with 20 billion calculations per second
【Lansheng Technology Information】The Intel supercomputer Aurora has been installed at the Aragon National Laboratory. It can provide FP64 computing power of 2 Exaflops and will become the world's first supercomputer with 20 billion billion calculations per second. Intel revealed that the Aurora supercomputer will be equipped with a total of 10,624 nodes, including 21,248 Xeon CPUs based on the Sapphire Rapids-SP series and 63,744 GPUs based on the Ponte Vecchio design. The system will be a beast with an insane fabric interconnect, delivering 2.12 PB/s of peak injected bandwidth and 0.69 PB/s of peak bisected bandwidth. In terms of memory, the Aurora supercomputer is equipped with 10.9 PB DDR5 system DRAM, CPU 1.36 PB HBM capacity, and GPU 8.16 PB HBM capacity. The peak bandwidth of system DRAM is 5.95 PB/s, the peak bandwidth of CPU HBM is 30.5 PB/s, and the peak bandwidth of GPU HBM is 208.9 PB/s. In terms of storage, the system is equipped with 230 PB of DAOS capacity, runni
