Auto chip giants aggressively expand production

At present, with the increasingly sluggish demand for mobile phones, PCs and other products in the global consumer market, industry manufacturers are worrying about a large amount of chip inventory that is difficult to digest.

The prosperity of automotive chips is in stark contrast to the sharp decline of other tracks. The automotive market, which is developing towards electrification and intelligence, is emerging with a huge demand for chips.

Looking at the world's leading semiconductor manufacturers, the recent financial reports have been affected to a certain extent by the headwind environment, but the automotive business has become the main force supporting performance.

In Qualcomm's Q4 performance, the automotive business is the only sector that achieved growth and the highest growth rate; Intel's automotive business revenue in the fourth quarter was US$570 million, a year-on-year increase of 59%, leading all Intel's business growth; Marvell also said recently that although the company Overall revenue is expected to shrink, but auto-related revenue should grow more than 30% this quarter.

Looking at the major automotive chip manufacturers, TI said at the performance briefing that last year’s Q4 except for the automotive business, all end markets were weak; NXP’s automotive chip sales increased by 25% last year, and Renesas’ automotive business increased last year. Nearly 40%, and both expect further growth this quarter.

Infineon even said bluntly that the production capacity of the automotive sector has been sold out in fiscal year 2023.

In the future, the development of automobile intelligence and electrification will continue to drive the continuous improvement of automobile semiconductor content and overall market size.

In this situation, #Infineon#Texas Instruments, #Renesas Electronics, #NXPSTMicroelectronics and ON Semiconductor and other traditional automotive chip manufacturers have continued to expand their production.
