Intel and Synopsys expand cooperation to speed up the provision of IP and support the development of Intel's foundry service ecosystem

【Lansheng Technology Information】Intel and Synopsys announced that they have reached a final agreement to deepen the long-term strategic partnership in the field of semiconductor IP and EDA, and jointly develop IP based on Intel 3 and Intel 18A process nodes for customers of Intel foundry services product mix. Providing key IP based on Intel's advanced process nodes will enable Intel's foundry services to provide higher quality services to existing and future customers.

Stuart Pann, senior vice president of Intel Corporation and general manager of Intel Foundry Services Group, said: "This cooperation marks another important step forward in Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy, which will help chip design companies take full advantage of Intel 3 and The advantages of Intel's 18A process node quickly bring differentiated products to the market, thereby promoting the development of a vibrant foundry ecosystem. Synopsys has long been affirmed and trusted in providing high-quality IP to customers. This collaboration will help accelerate IP acquisition for our joint customers on advanced process nodes offered by Intel Foundry Services."

"Intel and Synopsys have established a long-term strategic partnership in developing EDA and IP solutions that better position Intel to address the complex challenges of data-intensive applications," said Joachim Kunkel, general manager of the Solutions Group at Synopsys. Our collaboration with Intel on key IP R&D, design and system technology optimization will help our mutual customers accelerate the next generation of high-performance, AI-enabled designs."

As an important part of this cooperation, Synopsys will authorize the development of a series of standardized interface IP based on Intel's advanced process nodes. As a result, customers of Intel foundry services will gain access to industry-leading IP portfolios based on Intel's advanced process nodes, accelerating system-on-chip (SoC) design work and project progress.

The multigenerational IP collaboration builds on Synopsys' decades-long collaboration with Intel, including combining Synopsys' AI-powered EDA solutions with Intel's technology and design expertise to jointly develop advanced design process. Synopsys will take full advantage of its advanced design technology tools and implementation and signoff flows to comprehensively improve the power, performance and area of system-on-chip (SoC) and multi-die system designs based on Intel 3 and Intel 18A process nodes (PPA).

Intel's foundry service is a key pillar of Intel's IDM 2.0 strategy. Intel aims to regain and strengthen its technological leadership, expand manufacturing scale, and achieve long-term growth through years of transformation. On the basis of Intel's close cooperation with other IP and EDA suppliers, the cooperation between Intel and Synopsys is undoubtedly an important milestone for Intel to realize its IDM 2.0 transformation goal.
