Micropower, push-pull, unipolar Hall switches from Diodes Incorporated save board space in battery-powered applications

【Lansheng Technology News】Diodes Corporation today launched two new monolithic unipolar Hall effect switch product combinations, designed for proximity sensing in battery-powered product applications. These devices require only ultra-low supply current of 1.1μA at 1.85V and 1.6μA at 1.6V to 5.5V, making them ideal for battery-powered portable devices such as smartphones, laptops and wearables. . This series of devices is also suitable for home appliances, game consoles and industrial hardware.

The operating voltage of these Hall effect switches of Diodes is between 1.6V and 5.5V, and can be directly powered by the battery inside the portable device, thus saving the area and cost of power conversion. In the dual-output AH139x series, output 1 corresponds to the N pole, and output 2 corresponds to the S pole. The typical operating points are 25G (AH1391) and 30G (AH1392). The single output of the AH138x series corresponds to the S pole on the Part-Marking side of the device. The typical operating points are 18G (AH1381), 30G (AH1382) and 45G (AH1383).

The narrow operating range of these switches ensures low magnetic propagation, while their chopper-stabilized design provides minimal switch point drift and excellent temperature stability. For increased durability, these devices feature robust Human Body Model (HBM) electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection: 8kV for the AH138x Series and 6kV for the AH139x Series. In addition, these devices feature push-pull outputs that eliminate the need for external pull-up resistors, simplifying system design, saving board space, and reducing bill of materials.

To ensure suitability for small product applications, all devices are available in the industry's smallest packages: DFN1010-4 and DFN1410-4. The AH1381, AH1382 and AH1383 versions are also available in SOT23 packages. The AH138x series is available in DFN and SOT23 packages. The AH139x series is available in DFN package. The above models and the complete product portfolio of Hall Effect switches are included in the Hall Effect Sensor Device Selection Tool page.
