Samsung releases Exynos 2400 chip: CPU speed increased by 70%, equipped with RDNA3 GPU
【Lansheng Technology News】On October 6, Samsung demonstrated a number of new semiconductor technologies and chips at the System LSI Tech Day 2023 event held today, the protagonist of which was the Exynos 2400 processor.
Samsung says the Exynos 2400 has 70% faster CPU performance and 14.7 times faster AI processing than the Exynos 2200.
On the GPU side, the new chip also features the Xclipse 940 GPU based on AMD's latest GPU architecture, RDNA3, and previous leaks claimed that the new chip has 6 WGPs in the GPU.
The Korean company claims that the Xclipse 940 GPU delivers improved gaming and ray tracing performance. The company showed off the Exynos 2400's vastly improved ray tracing capabilities with a live demo during the event. It enhances the realism of the game through ray tracing technology.
Exynos 2400 has optimized AI performance specifically for smartphone design, and can use chip capabilities to locally generate text and images.
The company's next-generation 5G modem is compatible with NB-IoT and NTN technologies to provide satellite communications to smartphones. Samsung teamed up with Skylo Technologies to demonstrate a video of the feature. This could hint at two-way satellite communication for emergency messaging on the Galaxy S24 series.
