WPI launches UWB 3D positioning algorithm and host computer solution based on NXP products

【Lansheng Technology Information】WPI announced that its subsidiary Shiping has launched UWB 3D positioning algorithm and host computer solution based on NXP S32K144, NCJ29D5D and KW38 evaluation boards.

As modern cars have increasingly higher requirements for positioning accuracy, UWB ultra-wideband technology has received widespread attention from car companies. Among them, one of the most popular applications is to combine UWB technology with car keys to achieve a safer and more convenient way to open the door. In order to speed up the development of UWB digital keys by manufacturers, Dalian Shiping launched a UWB 3D positioning algorithm and host computer solution based on NXP S32K144, NCJ29D5D and KW38 evaluation boards. This solution fully follows the 3C protocol design and has strong resistance to relay attacks. capabilities, and the matching host computer can communicate with UWB BCM and display data and status in real time.

The UWB 3D positioning algorithm design part of this solution consists of NXP's S32K144, NCJ29D5D and KW38 evaluation boards. These three boards are matched with each other to form UWB anchors, BCM, BLE anchors and Keyfob. At work, the distance is measured through the communication between Keyfob and the UWB anchor point, and the distance data is transmitted to the BCM for calculation, and then the coordinates of the key in the three-dimensional space are calculated by the 3D algorithm.

Based on the 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M4F S32K14 MCU, the S32K144 offers a standard form factor compatible with the Arduino® UNO pinout and has a wide range of expansion board options for rapid prototyping and demonstration. NCJ29D5D is a new generation ultra-wideband (UWB) IC product designed to meet the connectivity and functional safety needs of the global automotive industry. The product delivers positioning accuracy down to centimeter level, allowing cars to understand the user's location more precisely. The KW38 is a single-chip device based on the Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core that can implement low-power Bluetooth (BLE) and universal FSK connections for automotive and industrial embedded systems.

The host computer part of the solution is developed based on Python and QT GUI. When in use, data is transmitted between the board and the PC through the UART communication interface. It not only has the configuration function of communicating with the UWB BCM serial port, but also can display status icons and data information in real time, set the welcome area and unlocking area range, and can Demonstrate application scenarios such as car door unlocking through animation.

In addition to S32K144, NCJ29D5D and KW38, this solution also integrates a variety of high-performance products from other partners. Facing the trend of intelligent upgrading of automobiles, Dalianda is committed to combining a variety of products and launching advanced solutions to help companies quickly complete design innovation and unleash unlimited potential.
