STMicroelectronics launches NanoEdge AI free deployment service to break barriers to edge AI applications

 


【Lansheng Technology News】December 13, 2023 STMicroelectronics is advancing its promise to rapidly apply artificial intelligence in devices that people use anytime, anywhere. The company announced that software libraries built using its flagship design tool NanoEdge AI Studio now no longer charge deployment fees and can be deployed on any STM32 microcontroller for free and in unlimited quantities.


Since NanoEdge AI Studio supports all Arm® Cortex®-M based microcontrollers (MCUs), customers can now also build and deploy efficient machine learning libraries on other brands of Arm Cortex-M microcontrollers under special license agreements , including unique on-device learning.


These initiatives prove that ST is fulfilling its commitment to accelerating the application of edge artificial intelligence solutions and benefiting more individuals and organizations.


NanoEdge AI Studio simplifies and accelerates the development of machine learning (ML) algorithms, using advanced regression algorithms to accelerate anomaly detection, similarity identification, classification and prediction processes. This industry-award-winning tool enables the creation of machine learning libraries with very small code sizes that can learn directly on the device, enabling predictive maintenance in complex environments.


Key Features of NanoEdge™AI Studio’s Upgrade

As a major participant in the artificial intelligence R&D community, STMicroelectronics has opened up access to NanoEdge AI Studio to all STM32 and other areas of the embedded world. This software natively supports most Arm Cortex-M-based MCUs on the market. Therefore, during the project creation process, users can choose from more than 140 STM32 development boards and more than 1,000 production-grade Arm Cortex-M MCUs from other MCU manufacturers.


STMicroelectronics has also upgraded the NanoEdge AI Studio software, introduced a new user experience, and added a step-by-step guidance assistant to help users seamlessly complete every stage of project development. The latest version, V4.3, includes advanced verification tools that help the final generated algorithms reach production-grade quality.


NanoEdge AI Studio can now estimate the execution time of machine learning models on pre-selected targets with 98% accuracy, enriching model reporting content and helping users make informed decisions when selecting models.
