Vishay's new 10MBd low-power optocoupler has a supply current as low as 5mA and a voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V

【Lansheng Technology News】Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of five new 10 MBd low-power high-speed optocouplers to help save energy in industrial applications. The single-channel VOH260A, VOIH060A and VOWH260A and the dual-channel VOH263A and VOIH063A have a voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V. They use open-collector output and are suitable for low-voltage microcontrollers, I2C and SPI bus systems.

Recently released Vishay Semiconductors devices combine high-efficiency input LEDs with integrated programmable output photodetector logic gates in DIP-8, SMD-8 and SOIC-8 packages. The maximum supply current of each channel of the optocoupler is only 5 mA, and the turn-on threshold current is low, with a typical value of 2 mA. The direct connection of the microcontroller does not require an additional driver stage, thus simplifying the design.

VOH260A, VOIH060A, VOWH260A, VOH263A and VOIH063A are suitable for data communications, high-speed A/D and D/A conversion, signal level conversion, and high-voltage protection of automation equipment, motor drives, and power tools. The device's internal shielding ensures a minimum common-mode transient noise immunity (CMTI) of 15 kV/μs. Optocouplers have low turn-on threshold current and low supply current, making them an ideal solution for isolating current noise and breaking ground loops in digital applications.

The device is RoHS compliant with a maximum rated isolation voltage of 5000 VRMS and an isolation distance of 5 mm to 10 mm to meet a wide range of requirements, including applications with operating voltages in excess of 1000 V.
