Copy of Infineon launches 160V dual-channel gate driver IC for battery-powered applications

【Lansheng Technology News】Infineon Technologies AG announces new members of its MOTIX™ family for automotive and industrial motor control applications. To further expand this advanced product family, Infineon introduces MOTIX™ dual-channel gate driver ICs, including 2ED2742S01G, 2ED2732S01G, 2ED2748S01G and 2ED2738S01G. These 160V silicon-on-insulator (SOI) gate drivers are powerful and cost-effective small gate driver solutions with excellent latch-up immunity and are designed for use in battery-powered applications such as cordless power tools, multi-purpose Rotorcraft, drones and light electric vehicles with battery voltages up to 120V, etc.

Infineon's SOI technology has no parasitic diode structure, excellent robustness, and industry-leading resistance to negative transient voltage spikes on the VS pin. These dual-channel gate drivers integrate a bootstrap diode to power an external high-side bootstrap capacitor, further reducing system-level BOM cost. These semiconductor devices are available in a compact 3x3mm² VSON10 package and are available in half-bridge (HB) and high-side + low-side (HS+LS) configurations with two different source/sink currents to drive n-channel in a variety of applications channel MOSFET.

2ED2732S01G and 2ED2742S01G have a source current of 1A and a sink current of 2A; 2ED2738S01G and 2ED2748S01G have a source current of 4A and a sink current of 8A. The VCC and VB pins of all products have independent undervoltage lockout (UVLO) functions, and the half-bridge products also integrate a breakdown protection (STP) function. In addition, the relevant JEDEC78/20/22 test shows that the MOTIX™ 160V solution fully meets the requirements of industrial applications.
