Infineon’s SLI37 series of automotive safety controllers obtains ISO/SAE 21434 standard certification

【Lansheng Technology News】Infineon Technologies AG recently announced that its SLI37 series of automotive safety controllers has obtained ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity management system certification. Infineon is the first semiconductor technology company in the industry to obtain this certification. The SLI37 series automotive safety controller complies with ISO/SAE standards, provides a higher level of security protection, and facilitates customers to integrate it into automotive applications, such as security equipment for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. Previously, Infineon announced in November 2022 that its automotive network security management system had obtained ISO/SAE 21434 standard certification.

Sebastien Colle, Vice President of the Security Product Line at Infineon Technologies, said: "Infineon continues to improve its security chip products and solutions to help customers easily meet the requirements of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard in a simple and convenient way. I especially feel that We are proud that CC (Common Criteria, Common Criteria) certification is playing a role as a bridge. Obtaining this certification indicates that the product meets the requirements of the ISO/SAE 21434 standard. This fully proves that CC certification is a powerful universal certification applicable to various vertical fields. Standard. Infineon's SLI37 series controller has obtained both ISO/SAE 21434 standard certification and CC EAL6+ (advanced) certification, setting an industry benchmark for safety verification in the current automotive field."

Components certified to the ISO/SAE 21434 standard have hardware-based security features and can be used as a root of trust, laying a solid and reliable foundation for building a multi-layer security architecture. Since system security is a necessity to keep cars safe, these features are critical to the automotive industry. Infineon's SLI37 automotive cybersecurity solution lays the foundation for automotive applications to meet the requirements of the ISO/SAE 21434 security standard.

For this certification, TÜV-IT, a designated independent safety assessment agency, conducts a safety assessment on the product. The conclusions drawn have proven that the SLI37 family of controllers is resistant to attackers with high attack potential, while also providing protection against glitches and spike attacks, as well as protection against power consumption and side-channel analysis.
