Neutron Controls and Infineon collaborate on advanced automotive battery management platform
【Lansheng Technology News】Infineon Technologies AG’s solutions help engineers develop reliable automotive battery management systems (BMS). Neutron Controls, Infineon's preferred design house, has released the ECU8™ system platform, which can accelerate the development of battery management systems (BMS) based on Infineon chipsets. Through this platform, Neutron Controls and its design services customers can provide complete semiconductor hardware and software platform solutions for battery management units that are ASIL-D, ISO26262 compliant, significantly reducing development effort.
The ECU8 energy control unit released by Infineon includes Neutron Controls' proprietary microcontroller modules, including AURIX™ TC3xx and TC4xx, TLF35584 Hypersonic PMIC, TLE9015 ISO UART transceiver and TLE9012 ISO UART battery interface card. ECU8 is the latest member of Neutron Controls' Rapid Engineering Development (RED) family of versatile platforms designed to accelerate software development, prototyping and product development.
The ECU8 platform is compatible with lithium-ion battery cells, and each module can individually monitor up to 12 battery cells. By combining up to 20 modules, the platform can support batteries up to 1,000 volts. Available communication interfaces for ECU8 include iso-UART and iso-SPI for ring mode, dual Ethernet ports and three CAN-FD ports. It also provides high-side and low-side drivers for external contactors. From a software perspective, low-level drivers are implemented for various components of the AURIX TC3x TriCore™ architecture. In addition, it can integrate state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) calculations.
